June Faire was this past weekend in a lovely little hamlet called Port Gamble. June Fair was a combination SCA event and medieval fair. The weather was dicey rain/sun/rain on Saturday but very pleasant on Sunday. So it seemed that SCAdians shopped on Sat. And mundanes came out on Sunday. Friday after setup, Chronographia and I walked the one block into town to find food. We found the most delightful place. There is a tea room that is also a Bistro by Night. http://www.tearoomatportgamble.com/ We had the best food! They have a world class chef, fabulous ingredients and reasonable prices. I had chicken cordon bleu. Best I've had since I went to Europe in 1978. The tea room had an amazing tea selection and scones.

When the fair was over, we took the ferry back to Seattle from Bainbridge island. Gas is very expensive here. Almost a dollar more per gallon than anywhere else we traveled. So the ferry saved us money. And it was a cool way to travel. It brought back memories of taking one when I was a child. Wish I could remember where.

On the downside, Chronographia turned her ankle and got scratched up. We'll see how that impacts our trip. Today we're in Seattle. Pictures later.
