Ashville Viking Fest
30 Apr 2018 09:12 pmThis event is always dicey, very dependent on weather. Setup was Friday. Thor stopped by with his blessings, some thunder and light rain. It was good. We were already setup. Camping on site was cold, 32°. Saturday, the clouds and wind increased. By the day’s end, a warm meal was a welcome sight. They say it was colder still on Saturday night because the sky was crystal clear. I was warmer. I had thick alpaca socks on. Sunday warmed up. The sun was bright. Lots of folks out enjoying themselves. Jousting, armed combat, artisans showing off their skills, a Viking longship, music, dancing, and a settlement of historical reenactors through various time periods. All free! Happens the last weekend in April in Ashville, Ohio at the town park. It's a great time. I was working with reduced battery on the phone camera so I didn't get many pictures. This is what my shop looks like:
