Ideas in Motion
25 Jun 2013 10:37 pmMasterpiece Mystery ran an Inspector Lewis with Peter Davidson. My gosh, his sweet voice turned to gravel. Is he a heavy smoker? It was good to see him on TV again.

So here's how my idea is turning out. 3" wide strips of jeans from two pairs of jeans. I folded them into thirds and ran a zigzag stitch down the center. Then I started weaving a bread sized box. I will be using it for a yarn display. The edges are too thick for my machine so I'm handstitching. It's taking a bit of time. It wants to be a bottom of a tote bag but I need a basket. The top edges want to be round instead of square. Needs support. Hmm. I thought about lashing a stiffer material around the top. Not sure it will help.
Here's another basket making idea: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YsBEv-sdEm0&feature=related
At some future date, I'd like to try a coil basket. We'll see. I see a lot of natural materials in the yard. My problem is not enough Thyme. :)
