I've got my list whelmed! ie Everything is covered. I will be plotting a new list shortly. My plans to take over the universe shall go forward. Today was very productive. I woke up with a strong urge to make a companion scarf to this one:

Start weaving

Only the next one will be dark brown with highlights of cream. I had this planned in Oregon but didn't get far because of the nursing home releasing John early.

This is how is begins

I got a little ways warped before I had to make lunch for everyone. When I got back to my workroom, I got sidetracked by fleece. I inventoried a tub of assorted colors. I was so enamored with the yarn that The Dudley Spinner had made that I wanted to spin something fierce.

She just finished some greens and some blues on her FB page. Gorgeous skeins! So I am attempting something similar. I have teal with pops of chartreuse and turquoise, but the teal is on dark grey wool so its really dark and not a happy bright teal. Wonder what to ply it with to make it brighter, hmmm. I want to keep the same colors going. We'll see whats in the bottom of the bin. The whole point is to use up scraps. I'd like to make another shawl. Last year's yarn looked like this:

This week's yarn

We'll see how this one goes.

solar oven

Solar cooker is set up. Sun came up early. Morning temp was 29 degrees, but by noon it was 43 degrees. I expect it to climb a little more. Had to adjust the angle of the cooker with a brick. So far, I've achieved 250 degrees inside. Seeing as I am cooking with a plastic bag, I'm okay with this. I am aiming for a long slow cook. Generally speaking, when I emersion dye, I look to keep the dyebath just under boiling. I didn't expect 250 but I'll take it. I won't need to do this more than one day. When it's colder outside, it is hard to achieve decent temperatures in the oven. We usually are overcast in winter which affects the temperature as well. Today is hazy but no clouds.
